About Us

Who We Are

We are made up of members of the LGBTQIA+ community and Allies of all ages. We aim to bring the young LGBTQIA+ community together to celebrate with colour and diversity, to raise the visibility of LGBTQIA+ people and support those young people in feeling a part of Wimborne society without judgement.

In the future we hope to support the provision of a safe space for LGBTQIA+ young people to meet on a regular basis in the Wimborne area.

How We Formed

Wimborne Pride was formed following a Culture Catalyst Micro-Commission as part of Wimborne Town of Culture 2026. It was recognised that Wimborne had never hosted a Pride by the committee, so Wimborne Town Councillor and Town Crier Chris Brown contacted Phil Webb, past gay Mayor who successfully applied for the Micro-Commission grant to create Wimborne Pride.

A consultation meeting attended by 18 people was held on 20th May 2026, and Wimborne Pride was born!
